Moose and Splotches - Foster (or Permanent) Home Wanted

Recently we were given two cats from a man who was left the cats when his father died but could no longer care for them. They were to be released to animal welfare however the man was told that they would be put down straight away as older adult cats are hard to find homes for. Fortunately for the cats we had a friend at this agency who contacted us to help save these cats from death.

We have rehomed one of the cats but Moose is still in need of the perfect home if you are interested please contact us on admin@animalliberationaotearoa.org.nz

  • Moose is a very large female who is very friendly and loves cuddles. We have recently had all of her teeth out but otherwise she is perfectly healthy. Despite having no teeth she can wet food perfectly fine.

Colony Cats in Need of a Loving Auckland Home

Animal Liberation Aotearoa have recently started feeding a cat colony in Grey Lynn who are currently living in someone's back yard and under their deck. We found out about them from an article in the Harbour News local paper.

We have started to catch, desex and vet check the cats in preparation for placing them in loving homes. We have caught two females and one young male kitten so far. We are about to release the females into the colony but would like to see them in homes soon before the cold winter sets in. Could you provide a home for one of these cats? If you can help please email ALA at admin@animalliberationaotearoa.org.nz

  • Possum is a tabby female who is between one and two years old. We have just had her fixed, wormed and defleaed. She is a bit shy but would make a lovely companion once she comes out of her shell.
  • Tangelo, a tabby tortoiseshell female, who between three and six months old. We have just had her fixed, wormed and defleaed. She is quite friendly and still has a bit of playful kitteness in her.

  • Pumpkin is Tangelo's brother. He is about six months old and has been desexed, defleaed and wormed. He is still a bit unsure of us and hides behind the other cats whenever possible.

  • Bumblebee is a very pretty girl. She is has been desexed, wormed and defleaed.

  • Nancy is a two year old female who seems like the boss of this colony. She seems very thoughtful in her approach to everything and is always somewhere surveying what is happening.
